Whitstable parkrun is a friendly, volunteer-run 5km event that starts at 9am every Saturday on the Tankerton Slopes side of town. The course uses the promenade and slopes, so it has proper sea air, open views and enough exposure for wind and weather to matter. It is a good active start to a weekend visit, especially if you want coffee, breakfast or a walk along Tankerton afterwards. Christmas Day and New Year's Day special runs are also at 9am when the local event team confirms they are going ahead, so check the official event page before travelling for those dates.
